The present invention relates to a processing method for producing fume-baked hide and its equipment. It is characterized by that firstly, the raw material hide is selected, then defatted, dehaired, rinsed, dried and undergone the fume-baking process so as to obtain the invented fume-baked hide finished product with uniform and good colour and smooth and delicate surface. Its fume-baking process includes the following steps: mixing and stirring fumigant formed from sweet potato shreds, brown sugar, wheat bran and other auxiliary material uniformly, placing it into a special-purpose fume-baking equipment which adopts semi-automatic closed belt conveying mode, heating fumigant by using mile fire and carbonizing, placing hide into the fume-baking chamber, and fumigating and baking said hide,discharging and cooling so as to obtain the invented product.
