The invention discloses a reverberation time estimation method and apparatus, so as to solve the problem, in the existing reverberation time estimation method based on a speech model, of the reverberation time of reverberation speech for which the reverberation time is smaller than a preset threshold being overestimated. The method comprises steps: a current reverberation speech signal is acquiredin a reverberation environment; an autocorrelation function is determined on the basis of historical reverberation speech signals and the current reverberation speech signal; and according to the autocorrelation function and a preset maximum-likelihood estimation model, the reverberation time of the current reverberation speech signal is determined.
