The invention belongs to the technical field of macromolecular materials and in particular relates to a glass fiber enhanced polypropylene material and a preparation method thereof. The glass fiber enhanced polypropylene material comprises 50-80% of a first PP regenerated material, 3-5% of a second PP regenerated material, 0.1-0.5% of white mineral oil, 10-30% of glass fibers, 5-10% of a compatilizer, 1-3% of an anti-floating fiber auxiliary agent, 0.2-0.6% of a coupling agent and 0.5-1% of a lubricant. The preparation method comprises the following steps: weighing the raw materials; mixing the raw materials except the glass fibers to obtain a mixed material; and inputting the mixed material into a main feeding hopper of a twin-screw extruder, and inputting the glass fibers into an exhaust port of the twin-screw extruder to squeeze and granulate. By means of the synergistic effect among the components and contents of the glass fiber enhanced polypropylene material, the economical high-surface glass fiber enhanced polypropylene material not only has the characteristics of being high in modulus and high in impact resistance, but also is high in surface smoothness and free of an obvious floating fiber phenomenon.
