The present invention discloses a catalyst for preparing propylene by the disproportionation of ethylene and butylene. The mixture of a molybdenum oxide and a rhenium oxide is adopted as the active component of the catalyst, and the cerium oxide-doped mesoporous alumina is adopted as a carrier. The cerium oxide is doped into the mesoporous alumina, so that the obtained carrier is almost the same in specific surface area compared with the conventional mesoporous alumina. Meanwhile, ordered channels in the carrier are not easily damaged in a high-temperature environment, so that active materials attached to the carrier are not prone to agglomeration in the high-temperature environment. Therefore, the active ingredients of the catalyst are better in distribution uniformity. As a result, the catalyst is higher in catalytic efficiency and better in propylene selectivity when applied to the preparation process of propylene by the disproportionation of ethylene and butylene.
